What Makes Soul & Slate Different:

Each urn begins as a sculpted ceramic form. Using your photos as reference, our master painters apply five layers of color by hand, capturing the unique markings, expression, and spirit of your companion. The piece is then fired at 1250°C—a temperature that fuses the paint permanently into the ceramic, ensuring it will never fade, chip, or degrade.

This is interpretive art, not photo-realistic replication. Our artisans paint in their own style, honoring your pet's essence rather than copying a photograph pixel-by-pixel. Think of it as a portrait commissioned for a gallery—personal, expressive, and unmistakably them.

The Artisanal Journey:

• Days 1-3: You upload photos and select your urn size. Our team reviews your images and confirms they meet quality standards.
• Days 4-15: Master ceramic painters hand-paint your companion's portrait. This cannot be rushed—each layer must dry before the next is applied.
• Day 16: We send you a photo of the completed (but unfired) urn. You have 48 hours to request one revision.
• Days 17-20: The urn is kiln-fired at 1250°C, making the paint permanent.
• Days 21-42: Your memorial is carefully packaged and shipped to your door.

Why 4-6 Weeks?
Because your companion deserves more than assembly-line production. Hand-painting takes time. Drying between color layers takes time. Kiln-firing takes time. We will not compromise quality for speed.

Important Notes:

• This is bespoke art. Each urn is painted individually. Slight variations in color, brushstroke, and expression are part of the handmade process.
• Returns are not accepted except in cases of transit damage (fully covered by insurance).
• One revision is included. If you request changes after the first revision, a $40 fee applies.
